re. the SX-28 & A - my Stepdad (WØKI - first licensed early 1937) was in the
US Army at the time - commo type.  He worked LF to WAR (callsign) all the
time, and said that they rejected the SX-28 after a short time, due to
instability.  He said they LOVED the Hammarlund SP-210's 'cause they "stayed
still".  I know this is heresy, but that's from "the fella' whut was there".

Me... I had a SP-210X (1941 version), and it was very, very cool... and WAS
stable - let it warm up for a half-hour, and that sucker would stay put for
a week - but then again, I'd almost kill for a '28A -
