The SX-24, the Skyrider Defiant" as it was called, was manufactured only in
the year 1939.  It sold for $ 69.50 in that year.  It was meant to plug into
the wall but if you have what you call a "Power pack", that was probably the
optional 12 volt DC pack for operating the radio in the car.

The receiver is a general coverage receiver, not a ham band only receiver.

To maillist,  When my wife's father passed away we inherited his original
Ham radio reciever with it's power pack and speaker system. We would like to
learn more about the history of this Super Defiant model. Dad purchased it
sometime before 1947, my wife believes.  He used it throughout the 40s and
later.  I am a General Class getting on the air again and would like to
refurbish it for use  as a SW receiver in my shack.
