To maillist,  When my wife's father passed away we inherited his original Ham radio reciever with it's power pack and speaker system. We would like to learn more about the history of this Super Defiant model. Dad purchased it sometime before 1947, my wife believes.  He used it throughout the 40s and later.  I am a General Class getting on the air again and would like to refurbish it for use  as a SW receiver in my shack.
