DA,
Closer examination of the transformer under a strong light and better
physical placement of the chassis indicates you are correct.
One of the solder connections on the transformer is indeed a dummy terminal.
It is used as a tie point and from there, the wiring goes up to the front
panel on/off switch. Shows you what a closer examination will do. Next
time I will not be so quick with my questions.

Some of you correct me if I'm wrong on this, but the
power cord is NOT soldered into the txfrmr - it just
appears that way. It's acually just a mount point.
This confused me too on my SX-16, which Ed Richards
starightened me out on. The schematic should show this
mount point as an "x" inside a circle in the line to
the on/off switch.
