In many old radios the schematic and the wiring can appear to be quite
dissimilar (switches drive me crazy).
I find it handy to use a DVM with a tone to buzz out the circuits.
Many times I have found the connection was on the other side of the chassis,
Grrrr...

When things get crazy I make a copy of the schematic and cross off each wire
as I "prove it".
I have found a number of bad modifications and kit builders errors this way.

Think of the old Heath manuals. They were tedious, but they worked!
