[Hallicrafters] S-40B question

Ok everyone, new to the list.  a
Last Sunday I picked up an S-40B, really nice one. Date stamped on
chassis (perhaps QC acceptance) of October 28, 1952. 
My first question to the experts is:
Did the S-40B Band Selector and Tone switch knobs have red lines on the
selector knobs to indicate the position of the switch?
This really nice S-40B was missing the Tone knob.  The Band Selector
knob had the red indicator line.
