Hi Jack, Mike, et al,
Good to see you Sat., Mike. (more later)
Boy, hasn't this been beat to death (again)?
I've had some slight problem with it, I think in Drakes, plus probably
others. Some mfg's stuff seems to weather it OK some doesn't. I err on
the cautious side, use DeOxit with the needle applicator as much as
possible.
Anyhow, Jack, try squirting (I use a hypodermic) "pure" alcohol,
"EverClear" 190 proof that you get at the liquor/ABC store, on the wafer
that's swollen. Douse it good, so it sinks in and "absorbs" the residue
of the cleaner that's soaked into the wafer, then blow it out & let it
dry. Might take a few douses & blowing out dry cycles. I've done it, it
helps some. Don't use rubbing alc, etc, it's cut with water & who knows
what else.
EverClear is good stuff, and cheap. If it doesn't work on the switch
you can always cut it with orange juice or your favorite mixer and pretty
soon you won't give a sh**.
73,
Al, W8UT
