[Hallicrafters] Cleaning switches with aerosol

RE DE-OXIT I did not know that de oxit is conductive. I sprayed some on
the osc section wafer of an HQ-145 after about 10 minutes I turned it on
and smoke from the wafer. As there are no parts available tried to
repair the wafer... no success as yet.
suggestions?
