Destruct button: I had 2 of the Village Radios that passed on to a serious 
collector. They both had a destruct button. Pressing it placed a dead short 
to ground, blowing  an internal fuse, and rendering the radio "inop". 
Removing cover and replacing fuse restored radio. Circuit was even shown in 
the schematic.
