You Asked:  Would you replace the filter caps, even if you don't hear any hum?

Depends on who you ask.  Some folks are strong believers in replacing all electrolytics, some folks are strong believers in leaving it alone until it needs to be replaced.

Where am I?  I'm pretty much in the leave it alone catagory but I have come to the conclusion that there is no such thing as a 'good old electrolytic cap', just bad ones and ones going bad.  So if you leave it alone, just plan on it going bad sometime in the near future and hope it just drys out rather than shorts :)))
