remembering back to the Old Days<tm>, printers frequently had emulation
modes.  They would emulate certain popular printers of the time.  If
your ALPS has this capability, an alternate driver will probably work
under a current version of Windows.

I remember certain Panasonic and Laserjet printers being almost standard
drivers that other printers emulated.

If it's really important, it's possible the linux community has a driver
for it... they tend to have things like this.
