[Hallicrafters] Beware 409 and Fantastic cleaners

Gary's washing/hosing down and putting in the oven method is also the
recommended way of cleaning old
Tektronix 'scopes. The only Hallicrafters I've actually had the nerve to
do it on was an SX-130 that
was in such crappy condition, chassis-wise, I didn't really care too much.

The SX-130, SX-110 and S-107 dial glasses all have this very fragile
white lettering that
wafts away in the slightest breeze, let alone liquid. I will never
forget the strange sight of
a jumble of Hallicrafters font around the plug-hole of the sink I was
attempting to wash
an SX-110 dial in.
