The green (ground) wire on the radio does NOT go to
the chassis (which is insulated from the cabinet) but
to the cabinet only.  That way if the capacitor from
the chassis to the cabinet fails the voltage will be
taken to ground and therefore not injure the person
who turns on the set.

Again, the green wire does NOT go to the chassis.
