[Hallicrafters] RE: Beldecal Wet Transfer Decal System **PRINTING WHITE**

It is possible to make white decals with an ALPS printer.

I did some "playing" several years ago and about then ALPS effectively went
out of the printer business. Unfortunately they also stopped producing a
driver that for me anyway would work with any operating system beyond WIN
2000. Some reported that it would work on XP but I never could get it to
work successfully. An ALPS printer WILL PRINT WHITE with the appropriate
cartridge.

My printer and a goodly supply of the cartridges for various colors are
packed away and I suppose sometime I might get around to installing a second
older operating system and seeing if I can get the printer to work again.
However too many other projects keep coming up.

******I'd suggest if you want to explore that method of making decals, a
good HOBBY SHOP is a place to start. When I last was playing with it there
were a lot of people who ran small businesses making decals for model
airplanes, boats, trains and the like. There was and may still be a YAHOO
list catering to ALPS printers if you're serious about it. In a reasonably
complete hobby shop there's bound to be somebody who can point you to a
local person in a large metropolitan area who will make custom decals,
including white. If not they should be able to suggest hobby publications
where you can find that information.

You can get on the ALPS mailing list using this URL:

Here are links to look at if you're serious about wanting to make white
decals or have them made FOR YOU.

All that below sounds great Bill, but do they have a way to make white
letters? Black is easy based on your description, but the ability to do
white would be nice also.
