[Hallicrafters] HA-10, Does It Go Below

There's a chart in the SX-117 manual showing what crystals to use for
any frequency from 85kc to 30mc except the IF's and immediately adjacent
frequencies.
The disadvantage is that there are only four auxiliary crystal
positions, although I suppose you could substitute crystals in any of
the standard band positions. Might be confusing, though.
Anyway, the first two crystal positions are for signal frequencies below
20 meters and the second two for frequencies above 20 meters. Since
each crystal covers 500kc, you need two positions for 500-1500kc. So,
you can't have crystals for the whole BCB and 30 meters at the same
time. You could have, in positons 3 & 4, crystals to cover 17 & 12.
I finally wondered why, with other general coverage receivers sitting
around, I wanted to put the SX-117 on the broadcast band anyway.
Because it's there, I suppose.
You could have crystals for 60, 30, 17, & 12 in the four positions.
Then you'd be covering everything except 160. I've got the 60 meter
crystal, but my antenna won't do it and I'm leery of the channelization
on an old analog type device.
