[Hallicrafters] HA-10, Does It Go Below

I don't have personal experience with low frequency (below BCB)
operation of the SX-117, but the manual says less than 1 microvolt
sensitivity from 3mc to 30mc, but 5 to 10 microvolts for 85kc to 3 mc
with HA-10, so I guess that gives us a clue.
By the way, I was out walking the dog after my previous post, thinking
about the out-of-band transmission issue. The HT-44 manual only lists
80-10 coverage, and the "Drive" and "Final" controls are calibrated for
80-10. The warning I mentioned states, "In slave operation...It must be
remembered that you will transmit wherever the receiver is tuned."
I imagine it would be hard to load the HT-44 on top of "News Talk 750",
or even 160 meters, but it would probably put out enough signal to get
you in trouble until the 6DQ5's went. But of course there are a lot of
places to be illegal between 80 & 10. The good thing is that you can
put your old HT-44/SX-117 on 30, 17, or 12.
