About 4-5 years back, my brother Bill phoned from the rummage sale he was
attending and asked if I'd be interested in a Hallicrafters HT-37. I said,
how much, the price seemed reasonable, and he dropped it off a week or so
later.

Some of you may recall my posting about this before as it's no ordinary
HT-37. It's an HT-37 transceiver. The power supply has been removed and a
5 band RF section installed in it's place. The IF has been totally rebuilt
using a KVG 9Mc crystal filter. No docs, but I dug around enough to see
that it's the classic bilateral IF. Portions appear to be diode switched
but will have to look a little more carefully to be sure.

This AM, around 4:30, which is a little early for dog walking, I had a
look at the 11pin power connector and wiring (replaces the original
accessory connector). Surprise! I discover it's set up for a Heath HP-23!
So, what the heck. I hooked up an HP-23 that I had been using with the old
HW-32A. Sure enough, she powered right up and I'm copying on 80 and 40!
Still have to root around for some 6146's and see how the TX looks on the
scope.

With all the relocation chores, I don't have time to get into this deeply
but could not resist playing with it a little before offering for sale.
It's done so nicely that one has to look at the cront panel carfully to
tell it's not a stock Ht-37, Will put some photos up soon.
