[Hallicrafters] Dummy antenna for S40 alignment

Hi Paul;

I see you have received several answers but none state my opinion. The
dummy load is to match the 50 ohm sig gen output to the receiver's
300-400 ohm input. Since nearly everyone uses coax now instead of ladder
line, the dummy load will do more harm than good. If you are using coax
to the receiver, just peak the antenna circuits to the 50 ohm generator.
Some people say a TV balun between the coax and the receiver will give
better results, I have tried it several times and it only hurt. I doubt
they go down to cover the BC band. You might want to try it. Good luck.
