[Hallicrafters] SX-16/17 Panel Lettering

Is the raised lettering on the SX-16 front panel painted white or clear with 
the metal showing through?

And, I'm still looking for information on the 465 kHz crystal.  Has anyone 
replaced theirs?  If so, what are the crystal specifications?
