[Hallicrafters] SX-16/17 Panel Lettering

I've had (2) SX-17's and looking at the panel lettering, it looks like
raised metal lettering with clear lacquer over them.  I have never seen
a 16 or 17 with white lettering.

Is the raised lettering on the SX-16 front panel painted white or clear

the metal showing through?

And, I'm still looking for information on the 465 kHz crystal.  Has
anyone 
replaced theirs?  If so, what are the crystal specifications?
