Bill: You might advise Olaf that there are two versions of the SX-111 -
one with a product detector and one without. The one with has the
filter capacitor under the chassis; the one without has the filter on
top of the chassis. The one with also has one more tube.

Your suggestion for a -111 is excellent.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Product Detector for SX-100/101 any
recommendations ???

Hello fellows,
I am getting tired of ''fiddling'' with 3 knobs, before I have a SSB
signal properly tuned in on the old boatanchors, like the SX-100 or the
SX-101's.etc.---the SX-101's (Ham Bands only) are not much fun, with SSB
being 90% of what is on the bands these days. Does anyone in this group
have some recommendations as to where to look for a suitable circuit
that does not ''botch up'' the radio too badly ?? I am sure, over the
years, poeple have published various solutions on this subject and
someone on this reflector may even have done it. Tnx fr ur
input.---Olaf,KF4TP---
