If I were you, I would trade in the 101 and find a 111. This may not be
a solution, but with
the current price of receivers on the market, the SX-111 with a product
detector is a super
receiver. You can keep the 101 as a collectors item or sell it and use
the money to get a
111. This will allow you to keep the 101 all original. I have a SX-111
and use it almost
everyday with the matching HT-37. A super combination. Just a
thought.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] Product Detector for SX-100/101 any
recommendations ???
Hello fellows,
I am getting tired of ''fiddling'' with 3 knobs, before I have a SSB
signal properly tuned in on the old boatanchors, like the SX-100 or the
SX-101's.etc.---the SX-101's (Ham Bands only) are not much fun, with SSB
being 90% of what is on the bands these days. Does anyone in this group
have some recommendations as to where to look for a suitable circuit
that does not ''botch up'' the radio too badly ?? I am sure, over the
years, poeple have published various solutions on this subject and
someone on this reflector may even have done it. Tnx fr ur
input.---Olaf,KF4TP---
