Turn off the AVC.

Run the volume control to maximum.

Use the r.f. gain control as the volume control.

Turn the BFO knob slightly to one side or the other.
If you can't get good sounding audio then turn it to
the other side. The BFO needs to be on the low side
for upper sideband and on the high side for lower
sideband. You can use the BFO control somewhat as a
vernier control.

This is the way to use all of the older receivers that
do not have product detectors to receive SSB.

The SX-110 is primarily a "reboxed" SX-99 and the
S-108 is primarily a "reboxed" S-85.

Can someone give me specifics on using the BFO method
reliably for sideband reception?
