Hi Chuck:
Try http://www.antiquehamradio.com , choose the Hallicrafters receiver link (scroll down about half way on the page and you'll find it in the right hand column) and look at the bottom of page 6 and the top of page 7. As of this writing, there are 69 Hallicrafters receivers for sale - either being parted out or sold intact. You'll find 3 SX-42's among them.

Still working on my SX-42 (Early SN: #HA59397) and have a shorted winding
on the 455KC Input side and would like to replace the can if possible. The
can bears the stamped number 50H190.
I remember a short time ago that someone was parting out a '42 and I would
like to obtain this "IF" if available.
