Also when shipping an SX28, remove the VR tube, remove the steering wheel
knobs, tape the glass windows, and basically secure or remove anything
fragile on the radio that could move around or be easily bent.
I once had a guy ship me an NC-300. He packed it in a liquor store box with
some old newspaper (!). It made it thru UPS without any dents. BUT --
shipping vibration shook loose the dial drum -which crashed around inside the
radio like a loose cannon- bending tuning cap plates and smashing tubes in
the process.
