Bill,
First and foremost MBE etc. has never been able to pack anything like a
BA properly. They use peanuts and 200# RSC boxes. They are the biggest
rip off in the packing shipping business and they are owned by UPS at
49%.
The stores on the most part are franchised by retired people that have a
foot on the scale instead of a thumb.
I have been in commercial packing and crating business for 22 years and
do a lot of crating for mail service stores. some for MBE but they are
too cheap to pay for a proper foam lined crate.
Further more the proper box for a SX-28A should be at least a 350 DW
with 2" of rigid foam in all sides. Foam in place to meet the specs for
80 pounds requires 3" in all sides. The inside if tubes are in place
should be stuffed with wadded newspaper or small bubble wrap.

IF IT CAN MOVE IT WILL BE DAMAGED PERIOD. PEANUTS AND FIP IS
NOT ENOUGH FOR A HEAVY BA.

MBE is not cheap they just do a cheap job.

UPS is fine if packed properly.
