All the literature I have seen on the S40A states that it uses a 5Y3 as the
rectifier. The unit I have had a 5Y3 in it but the socket has obviously been
replaced. The one put in does not match the hole very well.

But, the chassis is stamped "80". Was there an early version that used 80 s for
the rectifier? Or, did they reuse some old S40 chassis at the beginning
and use 5Y3 for the rectifier?

If I'm going to replace the socket, I'd may as well put the correct one in.

Thanks for any help that you may offer.
