[Hallicrafters] SX-71 antenna coil, damage? Need antenna coil

Hello all
I haven't pulled this set apart yet to try to determine why the BCB
sensitivity is down. Yes, there is a 100 Ohm resistor across the RF
amplifier coil but while I was doing an alignment of the set I "snipped" it
to see what effect it had. It only brought the gain up about 1 "S" unit at
the low end of the dial. I left it that way (and can always retack it
down).
BUT, I just thought of something!! As I mentioned, this antenna coil is
black (and I figured it was a coating). But, this set also had the Micamold
capacitor that goes from the powerline to chassis blown into iddy biddy
parts and scattered all over! I'll bet that when that capacitor shorted
out, the set did not have the chassis grounded, but DID have a grounded
antenna connected to it and the coil took the full brunt of the AC line!
Continuity appears to be good but that doesn't mean it doesn't have shorted
turns.
Anyone out there have a BCB antenna coil for a SX-71 that they would part
with at a reasonable cost (budget rapidly getting depleted).
I don't want to pull the old one out of the chassis for inspection unless I
have one to put back in should the need arise.
NOTE: This is a good reason to remove the old line cord from the set and
put a polarized cord on it so that the chassis bypass cap is always in the
neutral lead (I've already done that). Otherwise if that capacitor shorts
up it could truly "Light up your life".
