Duane,
My vintage station is ever changing: Currently I have the following:
Vintage AM Geloso Receiver and transmitter and Elmac A-54H modified for 40
meters.
Hammarlund HQ 120X owned and modified by the last
hammarlund Chief Engineer.
Lafayette Starflight Transmitter (DX 60 clone) with
Lafayette VFO.
Vintage SSB: KW Electronics KW 2000E for the UK. Currently the receiver
portion is in repair but it puts out 100 watts. Many of you may have seen
my posts on boatanchors reflector. This one checked into the 20 meter net
several times!
I have (in the midst of a deal) Hallicrafters SR-2000/PS coming hopefully.
I have two boatanchor amplifiers: A National NCL-2000 modified by Svetlana
to use their 4CX400's. Beautiful re-build so that it works 17 and 12. The
Rf Choke is completely homebrew by Svetlana to eliminate the hot spots so
common in the original National. Henry 2K serial #156 that still uses
3-400Z's. I have it on 17 and 12 almost daily putting out 600 watts .
Even my newer gear is classic with a pair of 1983 FT-980's and a 1982 Icom
IC-740. For 160 I use a modified Dentron DTR-2000L amp with 8877 and my
main amp is a LK-500NTC. I have a FT 920 that I plan to use on 6 meters if
I get around to it.
I also have several projects (beside the KW 2000E) and am looking for either
a homebrew AM/CW transmitter or Eldico TR-1 (300 to 400 watts AM/CW). I did
have two SR-150's but sold those off as the wife says I have too much gear.
I also had on the air and sold to another active ham the Galaxy GT-550
and my original 10Am station (HQ170A-VHF and Elmac AF-67).
My original vintage station was on the front cover of Electric Radio April
1997.
