During '70s and '80s we lived in a house and had room for many boatanchors.
The shack contained two RME 4350s, a Valiant, Globe King 350, a
Hallicrafters HT-18 (very nice QRP rig), and a wonderful recapped and
realigned SX-42, plus odds and ends. Sold almost everything when we moved
to a condo, but kept the homebrew solid state transmitter and receiver. I
really regret selling the SX-42. I had to cart it to 3 or 4 hamfests and
ended up selling it for $35.00, and the person bought it basically to get a
copy of the original manual, which I wouldn't sell separate from the
receiver! How things have changed!
Currently I've added an SX-101A and an SX-100 to the shack. The 101A has
been recapped and re-aligned and is working very nicely. The SX-100 is
still in process.
Don't have a transmitter now, but maybe a nice HT-18 will turn up someday
and I can get back on 40 meter CW.
