[Hallicrafters] HCJB on a Halli SX-71

Hi Rich.
Silver, Gold or Platinum needs a base plate of Copper.
Plate the object first with copper. Then plate the object with silver,
gold etc.
Some objects needs more voltage. I use a 12 volt DC variac (1-12
volts.1-25 amps)
If it's a large object you will need to tank plate it using a solution
of sulfuric acid and anodes of whatever you want to plate (Gold, silver
etc.) By reversing the polarity of the tank current you can "deplate" an
object.
I use that kit for knifemaking (plating guards, inlay etc.) Try
increasing the voltage (9-12 volts) Some metals are harder to plate than
others.
The "prep" " (sanding, buffing)determines the finish.
If it's a large object, you may need to go to a tank. You could write a
book on plating techinques. If you have trouble e-mail me.

Hope this helps. Jim
