  John,

My pictures are of a M14BA unit and my not be quite the same as your M14BR, but here are a couple.

Have you looked for a manual at https://navy-radio.com/manuals-ttycorp.htm?

 Good luck,

Duncan, unfortunately the mounting ends of the scales cast piece are broken off and missing. Also I can't tell where the screws in the middle of the cast piece attach. If you have pics, that may help answer the questions.

John,

The M 14BA & BR tape printers with external Range control were typically used in telephone company TTY test boards, so that they could easily test for distortion on the line.

Do you have the full cast aluminum scale that is broken?  If not, I have some pictures of similar units that might help in reproducing the scale.

I have another Teletype Corp museum piece on the bench. It's a 14 style tape printer with financial pallets and KB. It uses 3/8" tape. Probably from a stock broker. The pinion gear has no stamp but appears identical to another I have for 60WPM. The cabinet has a wood grain finish although in tough shape. It has a 1932 date stamp. Switches for 20/60 ma loop and polar/local are brought out nicely to the front as is a "knob" for adjusting the range.  The range control is elegantly geared and there is a cast aluminum scale and pointer at the front of the cabinet. Along with a few other parts, some missing por broken on the selector mechanism the cast aluminum scale is also broken. This can be seen in the photo here:

I'm sure I can get this working without the scale but best would be to have the 14BR parts manual and a bit of luck. Some 3/8" tape would be nice to have also.

 Thanks!
