[GreenKeys] Faulty memory?

As I thought more about it, I remember using the end of the 15 spindle 
to to stick in the small hole to pry it out.  Now wondering the purpose 
in the first place.  Perhaps some of the earlier machines just had a 
3/16" or so rod to hold the paper and needed the disks as an adapter?
