[GreenKeys] Faulty memory?

 I believe those were there to keep the spools from getting deformed in transit

to to stick in the small hole to pry it out.  Now wondering the purpose 
in the first place.  Perhaps some of the earlier machines just had a 
3/16" or so rod to hold the paper and needed the disks as an adapter?
