[GreenKeys] Model 28 Keyboard arrangement

I've done 2 keyboards to removed the nasty white stuff. One was a mark
II and other a mark III. Not much difference in the process. I removed
the hood and the top plate. I then proceeded to go one by one removing
a key cleaning it with Scotchbrite (a Brillo pad like product made of
plastic) and Pledge.
Pulling a keytop off is aided by using a flat blade screwdriver to help
spread the end where it snaps onto the key lever. Just a slight
twisting motion with the screwdriver helps reduce the force needed to
pull the keytop off. They snap back on easily.
Getting the top plate back on is tricky. I've since seen a suggestion
that you can make it easier getting all the keytops back in their
respective holes by turning the keyboard upside down. I'll try that
next time (if there is one).
I'd also look at the possibility of being able to pull one keytop and a
time with the top plate in place. Anyone tried that?
Is there some cleaner that you could dump all the keytops into that
would remove the white nasty and other dirt with much less elbow grease?
If so then one would have to evaluate the difference between easier
cleaning and easier putting things back together.
