[GreenKeys] Creed 7ERP

Alf et al,

Well I have made progress. I fixed the ribbon advance, but I think I used a
gallon of oil in the process.

The paper feed is intermittent. The main roller is cork and it has dried out
(any suggestions) and the little rubber rollers the paper roll runs on have
perished or even vanished.

So the advance turns the roller but the paper sometimes slips.

Some characters are feint (like "M") sand others bold such as ":" seem over
struck, but otherwise it prints reliably.

I think I was over optimistic on the punch. It works after removing the
keyboard and replacing but if you move the disable lever it won't start
again.

I think more oil may be required...

Dave

Hi Dave,

The punch is enabled / disabled by a lever at the front that moves left and
right.

There are 5 Bowden cables that transfer the code data to the punch and a 6th
cable, that when enabled releases the clutch to make the punch perform one
cycle.

The whole mechanism on the museum machine was totally seized up and I had to
use considerable force to remove the clutch pawls to clean and oil them.

Also the on/off lever on it was bent as it protrudes from the front and is
vulnerable and it wouldn't trip the clutch . I'll take some photos for you
tomorrow at the museum.

Cheers,

Folks,

I have been working on a CREED 7ERP over the last couple of days. So that is
a CREED 7E keyboard printer with a punch on the end of the keyboard.

Once I cleaned and oiled it, adjusted the motor speed, and straightened the
fingers or comb that the key levers slide in, the keyboard/printer now seems
to be working fine, apart from the ribbon advance.

What I can't figure out is how the punch is supposed to be
enabled/disabled. Its driven by Bowden cables from the receiver fingers
which seems to work OK but no clues on enabling the punch..

. any one any ideas..
