I started on eBay back around 2000.
It was common to find item like "Designer's Silk Ties" for $0.01
with $50 shipping.

That is obviously not a problem any more, but you still see sellers
"hedging their bets" by having excessive shipping on an item.

Yes, a Collins R-390A costs around $120 via UPS. But that is NOT
what it should cost to ship a roll of TTY paper.
