Hi all!
Many tks to all for their input re: the 1khz test tone topic...
A lot of really good suggestions and helpful info on this...
Dennis had commented the telco's actually used 1004khz,
which is quite right!
I can remember now, working with Tellabs equipment many
yrs ago, of 'Toning' out ccts using the 1004khz ref tone!
The HP3551 I just purchased was described by the seller
as "May need calibration"...I now have lots of info
to check the situ...
We used these test sets as the standard back in the day,
they were very rugged, and always worked well!
Our company wud send these units out periodically
for checking & re-calibration...I used one of these sets
on a continual basis and found it always to be accurate...
For my needs now, will likely use it for tuning audio
filters, so if it is off by a khz or two, it won't. matter
that much...
Tks agn all for the very helpful info!
Cheers!
Ken
