Good ole Desk Fax machine. Sent pictures to a friend over the phone
lines using these machines. As used reception was a negative of the
picture sent. Uses high voltage to burn picture or text on special
paper. Stinky and smokey. Original use signal went to central office
that inverted signal so reception on far end was not a negative.
Cheaper than teletype for smaller customers. Paid $25 for 3 of these
plus shipping many years ago. Paper was $12 for box of 1000 sheets.
Still have them.
