    I did not intend to imply this list is not civil, it is, very.  Gil 
allows a lot of borderline off topic stuff because it really has some 
relevance to teleprinters. I find most of it very interesting.
    Teleprinters are really a sort of mechanical computer, extremely 
clever mechanism to convert serial digital data to print.
