Just wanted to thank everyone that offered advice and spare parts. With help 
from Steve Garrison and Duncan Brown I was able to finally get it working 
the way it was supposed to.

The main problem was the gear and thanks to Duncan for finding a replacement 
gear and shaft I was able to get it to a point I could troubleshoot the 
remaining problems. Also, if anyone needs a shaft minus the bad gear I have 
one.

Seems someone had taken it apart before and just thrown it back together 
with the function arm on the wrong side of the function claw. After 
resetting the function claw and making the necessary adjustments it is 
working just great.
