[GreenKeys] tape splicers and splicing?

I recently started a discussion on the subject of tape splicing and making
tape loops on another web post.  My experience was and is that Teletype
equipment will feed a splice through the TD fine but Kleinschmidt equipment
is "fussy" about it.  My Kleinschmidt TD's will jam more then not, due to
the tighter tolerances.  You can correct for this sometimes by adjusting the
gate.  I no longer have any Teletype Corp. gear to compare but years ago we
made many test tape loops and repaired PIX tapes with no problems on
Teletype gear.
