[GreenKeys] RA87 and BE-77A connection question

I have a BE-77 with a two-prong straight blade connector on the cord.
I would suspect this to be someone's replacement, except that there is
a schematic label on the side of the box that shows a two-wire cord
and apparently a straight-blade connector.  There is a photo in
TM 11-680 "Teletypewriter Circuits and Equipment (Fundamentals)"
showing Line Unit BE-77-A (which is what I have) and isn't very clear
but appears to show a straight-blade plug.  So maybe a straight-blade
two-conductor plug is authentic, even though it seems like the worst
possible choice for the application.
