[GreenKeys] RA87 and BE-77A connection question

As to why the RA-87 uses the twist lock and the BE-77-A the crow's foot, I
can't say. Both were commonly used on 115 VDC circuits in the 30's and
40's. Find a Hubbel catalog and ID the connectors. Up until at least a few
years ago, they were both still listed. ID the twist lock by the voltage and
current ratings. That determines the nature of the pin with the offset key.
You're lucky that you need a male twist lock. If you had to mate to a
recessed male, you could probably find the same part number but the body would
be too large in diameter.

Another source that used to yield AC line cord plugs for the BC-610
(opposite gender) .was garage sales - boxes of electrical fittings usually found
sitting on the ground under the tables. Also, if you find what at first
glance is the correct twist lock plug but it won't fit, it will be because it's
keyed differently. You can dissasemble the female and cut a keyway in the
face. The internal parts were all the same. Only the socket face was
different.
