An excellent suggestion.  At Illinois Bell the company archives and  
artifacts were removed only one month before the contractor drilled  
into the Chicago Tunnel System and flooded the entire network.
IBT had just finished sealing off the tunnel access two weeks before  
the accident.  There were items and records going back to Alexander G.  
Bell and the beginnings of the Bell System.

You're welcome, Don. FWIW, it was long ago speculated among former CMC
workers that if the place were to be closed, the DoD should sell it to  
one
of those companies that offer off-site high-security data archive  
services.
