[GreenKeys] Terminal Units

Well, I thought I was bad, but I think Jack might have topped me, hi hi. I
started with a Twin Cities TU, open on the bench with a 28 ASR. My first
contact, honestly, was Irv Hoff, W6FFC, designer of the ST series TU's!! He
said I had so much RF on my signal that only his ST-6 could have copied me,
hi hi!! I put it in a case later, and solved that. I bought several of the
"Pemco" boards for ST-5's and ST-5A's and built them for Navy Mars members
in the early 70's. Fine units, especially with some outboard filtering.
Then I built the DT-600 when boards came out for it, and was RUINED! Worked
like a dream. I went through some of the early Radio Shack computer stuff,
like the Bit Byter built for the Model I and one other I just can't
remember. I had several TU-170's and I also built many of the XR series
chip TU's for VHF use in the Mid to late 70's, early 80's, then found a Hal
ST-6000 at a hamfest that didn't work. Worked on that on and off for a year
and got it going, and have used Hal stuff nearly ever since. Current TU's:

ST-6000 (3 of them, one is a "new" commercial low tone unit I bought new in
2004 from Hal as a retirement present for myself, hi)
ST-5000
ST-8000 (still in repair)
DT-600
CP-1
ST-6 (several, even two in "partial build" stages. I plan to strip the
boards and re-build them) (I also have a new XTK-100 crystal controlled
keyer for one).
UTU (Kantronics)
Theta 777 (Tono)
Drake Theta 9000E (suspect that's a Tono also!)
PK-232's (several)
Hal P-38
Hal PCI-3000 (2 each)
Hal PCI-4000
Probably forgot some, but that's the bulk. Better quit, the wife might be
looking!!! HI HI I would like to find a good Dovetron again "reasonably"
priced. I traded my good one for a PK-232 years ago, and have always
regretted it. I got one of the "big bird" ones, but wasn't happy with it
and let it go to another Greenkeys member. Maybe I'll find a "loaded" one
again.
73,
Don, WB5HAK
P.S. I see a LOT of ham calls there, maybe time for some of us to meet on
20m???
