Don:
Should you wish to try and make the trip, count me in for a $100
contribution for fuel. perhaps the other guys in the green keys round table could do
as much, and then in the future, we perhaps could be in line for a $100 credit
on our first order from you and from this inventory. ( I am an active, but
inactive ham, and sadly had to take a ton of RTTY equipment to the local
scrap yard fully operational.... several years ago really hurt me to do it.
just did not have the storage at the time)
one idea I have: if his inventory exceeds the capacity of your pull
behind, perhaps there is another ham/rtty type guy in the vicinity who could loan
you the use of a back yard storage shed. I use surplus and old over the road
tractor trailers they run me about $500 ea, and I now have 4 of them full.
also surplus, but running school buses I have picked up for less than $1,000
and they store a lot, and it is weather tight as well.
I will check with Marv Collins and see if he could also subscribe for $100
in fuel.... Let me know where to send the check if you decide to take this
on.
Otherwise perhaps it is time to contact Fair Radio in Nebraska and see if
they have the room to take the valuable stuff... I hate to see this fine
inventory go to the scrap pile. I wonder if you could work a deal out with the
gent to allow you to store some of it at his QTH, and you take over the sales
effort. I am sure you could locate a local ham that would go over to his QTH
and ship the stuff out as sold. 92 yrs and still kicking.... wow...
