GA listmembers,
I have been following the discussion concerning the demise of
Typetronics with some concern, and, although I can't make the trip
myself at this
time, would happily contribute at least $100.00 to help defray the gas
prices of someone who would be able to get down there to ck out the
inventory, etc.
Right now, I am happily enjoying my new bionic lenses, having just had
my cataracts removed, and now can see perfectly, with the exception of some
trouble with my left eye from an old bleed which I already knew about,
however, Teletype paper has now become rich canary yellow, and not greenish
dull gray. --hi--........ I wish I could, at this time, also absorb
some excess inventory. The problem I have now is, of course, space. I
reside in a row home
(for those not familiar, possibly you are familiar with a
"townhouse?????" OK...well, I have the contents of 2 houses in here
right now, as I have recently settled an estate, and have furniture
jammed everywhere. My basement is chock full, and I have teletype
machines against one another until I can get sorted out and restore
order to chaos. That is why I have asked various list members to hold
machines for me --hi--... I also lost my "warehouse" when we failed to
get the USS America for a museum ship, and she was towed out and sunk in
a live fire exercise.
Anyhow, we can't let this valuable inventory go to waste....so I will
donate for expenses to anyone going down.....
Now, change of subject..... I need a TYPING perf for an M28ASR........ I
have a non typing perf, and while I have been reading tape forever, I
still like the printing perfs.... I also need a complete set of parts to
add an underdome reperf for this M28, with the exception of the reperf
itself, of which I have plenty. (Did someone on the list need a punch
block? a punch pin? was that for chad or chadless??? let me know, and
I probably have the whole assy or just the pins, but I gotta search thru
the "mass quantities" of parts in some rather large boxes, including a
large quantity of parts which Jan Skirrow packed my URA-17's with when
he shipped them to me,,,,,,,,,,
Anyhow let me know about the trip plans, and whoever it was that needed
the reperf parts, and I will look for them and send them out as soon as
I can locate them in the Rats Nest which the basement has temporarily
become........incidentally if anyone has a schematic for a URA8, I would
appreciate that (No H deflection on the CRT) so just a rudimentary tube
layout would be helpful here for starters, and I could trace things from
there... I remember a lot, but 38 years is a long time--hi--
tnx much

THIS YEAR, THE FINEST CARRIER THAT EVER SAILED THE 7 SEAS WILL
BE GONE FOREVER, HER CALLSIGN NMIB (LATER NUSA) NEVER TO BE
HEARD AGAIN, NOR BE SEEN FLYING PROUDLY FLYING FROM THE HALLIARD
WHILE ENTERING OR LEAVING PORT.
SHE MAY BE SUNK, IGNOMINIOUSLY, BY THE NAVY, SANS COLORS, SANS HONORS
BUT WE, HER LOYAL CREW, AND SHIPMATES, WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER HER FOR
CARRYING US INTO HARMS WAY, AND BACK AGAIN WITH OLD GLORY FLYING AT THE
GAFF, AND WITH HONOR APLENTY. AT LEAST WE TRIED TO SAVE YOU FOR A MUSEUM, AS BEFITS A SHIP CARRYING THE NAME OF OUR GREAT REPUBLIC.
BUT SOMETIMES YOU JUST CAN'T WORK MIRACLES WITH MORONS.
