[GreenKeys] Hoffnet update

Hi don,

I am still game to try and get the Hoffnet going. It seems at the time
I tried earlier, everyone was involved in other things. I still think
it would be a great way to get to use our machines. Plus Gil went to a
great deal of effort with the TTY connect project that would make using
a teletype machine on the air more flexible than ever before. It would
be a shame not to make use of the fantastic TTY connect project and the
Dovetrons that inspired the effort.

I think if we were to try it again, I would recommend another frequency
than the 10 Mhz I tried to use. Too many people don't have an antenna
for the band and many did not have receivers that would tune to that
band. These two factors seemed to be a major stumbling block for many
people to get on. I would recommend 40 meters as an alternative.

I hope we can do this. I, for one, am tired of just copying W1AW and
would love to see a group of us meet daily to just shoot the breeze on
the Green keys.

Best regards to all -- Roy Norris , K4EEG

Is there still any interest in the "Hoffnet" suggested and pioneered
earlier this year by Roy?
