Just got back from a (truncated) visit to the 7th annual Vintage
Computer Festival in Mountain View, CA... one of my other twisted
afflictions, apart from heavy old Teletypes, is collecting and restoring
heavy old computers - I specialize in DEC (Digital Equipment Corp)
minicomputer systems.
A friend and fellow collector told me he was bringing an old TTY that
he'd found at a small ham swap, and since he'd sold me a couple of ratty
Model 28 KSRs in the past, I naturally assumed it was another - not that I
need any more 28s, but, hey! parts is parts.
So I was pretty shocked when he opened the back of his van and there is
a Model 26...! Even has a very rusty pint can of Teletype Oil with it.
I haven't had time to do much more than open the top and look, and it's
missing three or four keytops, that I have spares of... but it's in
generally good shape from what I can see. Apparently it was in use in a
QTH some years back - there is a wad of paper and various doc that is
jammed down in the case, so we'll see what's included there.
Gil has a nice spread of pictures of these:

So it's nice that the TTY Gods were smiling, and thanks also to Marvin,
KE6HTS, for snagging this Old Girl.
Now where are my latex gloves and that old tin washbasin....
Cheers
